Great advice. I think people often over look that quality customer service stems from doing your job right. This includes things like remembering the information they give you, and keeping everything organized. For example, if you forget to back up files and lose contact info, this could result in not contacting your client in a reasonable time frame. That would make you look bad and your customer satisfaction could suffer.

Jason, yep, absolutely right. The big problem a lot of business owners who start using social media have is this: they still have the ‘broadcast’ way of doing marketing in their heads and pump out information — whether it’s wanted or not. Real shame, because in the long run they’re shooting themselves in the foot. And what’s worse: once the damage is done (you’re now known as a self-centred pitcher), it’s very difficult to fix the damage.
